Introduction

The domain of free and open source software (FOSS) is steadily growing. Technically recognised as a feasible alternative to proprietary software, numerous initiatives of sensitisation lead almost everywhere in Europe to development projects that are often the origin of start-up companies in the IT sector. In Luxembourg, the development of free and open source software is still marginal, whereas the demand is in a rapid but uncoordinated growth and therefore needs coordination. Acknowledging this fact, the CRP Henri Tudor is willing to network the major players in the field of FOSS in Luxembourg to a common innovation platform.
